The 2nd Confetti Wedding Awards, presented by Paramount Creative, took over the Hilton Glasgow on January 29th 2017, with over 500 guests coming together to celebrate the best of Scotland’s hotel industry.
The Scottish Confetti Wedding Awards Gala Final was a big celebration from start to finish; it kicked off with musical delights from Lynn Kelly and her spectacular dancers before guests enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal. The evening boasted eclectic entertainment as Feeva treated the room to the hits of Motown before tribute band Sugarhoneyz led a whirlwind tour through the last twenty years of girl bands. After a night of celebration for those so versed in aiding others to do so, the night’s winners led the troops to dance in to the night at the official Confetti after party at Light Nightclub.
Capital FM presenter and funny-man, Des Clarke, returned to host the evening and joined by representatives from Confetti sponsors and supporters, handed out the night’s awards to deserved individuals and businesses from across Scotland. Winners received not only the accolade but fabulous treats from Confetti sponsor, Fake Bake.
The 2017 Confetti Awards saw over 80,000 votes cast by the general public to whittle down the 1000 competitors to just 155 finalists. The independent judges toured the country visiting the nations favourites; cakes were sampled, catering taste-tested, venues inspected and customer service scrutinised in the search to find the best of the best.
The hard work and skill of all of the finalists was recognised before the big winners were announced; Florist of the Year went to All About Flowers, Wedding Planner of the Year to Daydreamer Events Studio and Best Stationary Supplier to Caledonian Cowgirl. Chris Kelly Films picked up the Videographer of the Year Award and Photographer of the Year went to Story of Love by Natalie Martin.
Tables jumped to their feet in celebration as awards including Caterer of the Year (Bespoke Catering & Events), Hairdresser of the Year (The Aisle – Bridal Hair & Make-Up) and Cake Designer and Retailer of the Year (A-Cakes) were revealed.
The evening was not just rewarding for the winners; there were also charitable efforts on behalf of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, raising money for life saving medical equipment for young people. Two lucky guests left the room with the Grand Charity Raffle Prize and will be jetting off for a two week holiday to Cyprus!
The winning didn’t stop there; one lucky couple won the big Honeymoon Giveaway courtesy of Confetti partner, Barrhead Travel. Each bride or groom to cast a vote was entered in to the draw and two lucky couples were picked out to join the event where the winner was announced. The lucky couple, Cheryl and James, will be flown to Mexico for seven nights in the Hard Rock Hotel, Riviera Maya!
Warren Paul, CEO and Founder of The Confetti Wedding Awards, expressed his delight at the enthusiasm shown for the event, ‘It was a wonderful evening. The engagement and enthusiasm shown for our inaugural event was outstanding and so to see this grow in our second year is fantastic. We have more than tripled the amount of votes collected from the public and engaged more businesses across the industry than ever before. Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all who came along to our Gala Final’
